sameAs is a schema.org property linking an entity to other pages that unambiguously identify it, such as its official profiles or its Wikidata entry.
Schema.org defines sameAs as the "URL of a reference Web page that unambiguously indicates the item's identity", giving a Wikipedia page, a Wikidata entry, or an official website as examples. In a business's structured data it usually lists the profiles the business controls, such as LinkedIn, a Google Business Profile, and industry directories.
It is one of the simplest ways to connect the entity on your site to the same entity elsewhere. When your site says your business is the same thing as a particular LinkedIn company page and a particular directory listing, and those pages show the same name and details, engines have an easy, consistent path to confirm who you are. Only list profiles that are genuinely yours and genuinely current.
