FAQPage schema is structured data that marks up a page's questions and answers. Google stopped showing FAQ rich results in Search on May 7, 2026.
For years, FAQPage markup could make a page's questions expand directly in Google's results. Google limited the feature to well-known, authoritative government and health sites in September 2023, announced that it "will no longer appear in Google Search starting May 7, 2026," and then removed it from its documentation in June 2026.
The markup is still valid schema.org, and it still describes a page accurately: these are the questions, these are the answers. That can help any system reading the page understand its structure, and a visible FAQ remains useful to readers. What it no longer does is produce a special result in Google. Advice to add FAQ schema "for rich results" is out of date. This site keeps it because its FAQs are real and visible.
Why does it matter to your business?
If someone sells you FAQ markup as a way to win space in Google, the pitch is out of date. Write real FAQs for readers, and mark them up for accuracy, not for a feature.
